Hey guys! I can’t believe Halloween is TODAY! If you’re like me, you’ve probably stocked up on (very tempting) Halloween goodies to hand out to the trick or treaters tonight. Whilst it’s very hard to resist the urge to devour all the left overs, I recently learnt of a recipe that may make you reconsider!
1 1/2 cups of brown sugar
1/2 cup of melted butter
2 lightly beaten eggs
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups of sifted plain flour
1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1 cup of chopped leftover Halloween sweeties
The first thing you want to do is preheat the oven to 180C/ Gas 4 and grease your square tin (roughly 20cm) ready for when your Halloween treats are done, then you’ll want to beat the sugar, and eggs until they’re light and fluffy. Next, add in the melted butter and vanilla extract slowly, making sure it’s mixed in well before adding any more, finally fold in the flour, baking powder and salt to the mixture using a spoon or a cooking aid on a slow-ish setting.
Now the fun part, select a variety of chopped sweeties, and add them to the mix! My favourites to add in are Smarties, Rolos, and Cadbury’s marvelous creations!
Then pour it into the tin and cook it for 18 – 20 minutes, until it’s bouncy to the touch. Let cool and enjoy!
